From some reliable sources, WDTVC.com has got some new information on the successor of the popular WD TV-media player. It will have a retail price of 149 Euro in Europe. The official name of the device will be WD Live TV Media Player.

Here’s a big surprise for you.  WD has released a new version of the WD TV, called the WD TV Mini.  The Mini drops the HDMI connection for component and composite hook ups..  Also, the firmware has a slightly different look to it.  The Mini is available in their store now for $99!

Over at AVSForum a member got some pictures of what looks to be a WDTV2 prototype.  There’s no information about the new version except for the noticeable network port, video inputs for the standard def, and the DTS downmix.
