Here’s a big surprise for you.  WD has released a new version of the WD TV, called the WD TV Mini.  The Mini drops the HDMI connection for component and composite hook ups..  Also, the firmware has a slightly different look to it.  The Mini is available in their store now for $99!

Sorry, we’re a little late on this post.  WD has released 1.02.10 Beta to the public with a few bug fixes.  Here is a quick rundown:

Some of you might have missed it but since version 0.5.1 of b-rad’s WDLxTV firmware it is very easy to change the background image and screensaver. How cool is that! Notes from the changelog:
* Custom background and screen saver images can be supplied at boot
