Download the firmware update.

Open the .ZIP file and extract the two files (.BIN and .VER) to your USB drive’s main directory.

What you need:

USB Key formatted FAT or FAT32. The windows utility formats it fine
WDTV device (obviously)
A USB->Ethernet Adapter. For a list of compatible ones go here http://root.unknown.sk/wdtv/wiki/dok…ed_usb_devices I am using the Apple USB Ethernet Adapter which I bought from the Apple Store. Was easiest and quickest one for me to get.
